Ontario Committed To Building The Best-Educated Workforce

To help create the best-educated workforce in the world, Ontario is moving forward to help families with a 30 per cent cut in average college and university tuition, starting in 2012.

The new grant will make sure post secondary education remains accessible and affordable by saving Ontario families $1,600 per student in university and $730 per student in college, each year. The grant will apply to families with incomes under $160,000 and be available for up to four years of a full-time undergraduate program.

The McGuinty government will work with post secondary institutions to ensure that students receive this support for the semester starting January 1, 2012.

Helping keep post secondary education within all families’ reach is part of the McGuinty government’s plan to create jobs and build a stronger economy.
