As the owner of the Kanata/Nepean location of Padgett Business Services, Karen is committed to providing each Padgett client with service and value beyond what is expected. Karen’s specialty is in helping small business clients grow their business. Whether you are a sole proprietor, a professional, a family owned business, a partnership or a corporation your business needs will be addressed.
Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa in 1987. In 1991, she obtained her professional designation as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Karen served in progressively senior roles in several companies including Storwal International, Ricoh Canada, Newbridge Networks, Alcatel, and Alcatel-Lucent. Her career includes positions in both Finance and Information Technology. Padgett Business Services represents the principles and values that Karen has practiced through out her 20 plus year career.
Karen is happily married to a very supportive husband. Together with their terrific daughter, a cat and the greatest bunch of friends, what more could an accountant ever ask for!
Lisa Fines
Senior Accountant/Client Service Advisor
Lisa Fines is happy to join the Padgett team as their Senior Accountant – Client Service Advisor . She joined Padgett in April 2010 in the middle of tax season and took it all in stride. Over the last 15 years, Lisa has played an integral roll in helping Ottawa area companies ensure their financial needs are addressed. After the birth of her third child, she decided to put her expertise to work and started her own bookkeeping company specializing in helping small businesses and their unique needs.
Lisa holds a Certificate in Financial Management as well as a Business Accounting diploma. She is also a member of the Canadian Bookkeeping Association. And if that were not enough, she is currently working toward achieving her CGA (Certified General Accounting) Designation. Padgett is proud to be able to offer Lisa’s experience & expertise to our client base. She also is proficient in Quickbooks, Simply Accounting, PC Law & MYOB.
Lisa currently resides in Barrhaven with her husband and three children. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys Karaoke, taking her children for nature walks, and spending time together as a family.

The corporate name of the company officially changed to SmallBizPros, Inc. in order to more accurately reflect who we are: the Small Business Experts. Our local offices continue to operate as Padgett Business Services. Today there are over 400 Padgett Business Services offices in the United States and Canada. We continue to expand throughout the U.S. and Canada.
